Last week Florida GOP chair Jim Greer issued a statement accusing the president of "trying to indoctrinate America's children to his socialist agenda." He got a lot of face time on the cable networks while making those allegations.
Now that Greer has read what the president plans to say, he says he plans to let his own kids watch.
Audio:
"It's a good speech," says Greer, "It encourages kids to stay in school and [stress] the importance of education."
Greer says he has no regrets about what he said last week, criticizing the original lesson plans that called for teachers to ask how students can "help" the president.
Editor's note: Nothing like having some actual info before passing judgment. That'd be something to teach kids, wouldn't it?
Don't you think if Greer had simply called the White House and asked for a transcript while expressing his concerns that all this could have been avoided? Or is it possible he was looking to advance his own political career, or perhaps his own political agenda? It's possible, isn't it? Why didn't we pursue a more reasonable course for arriving at a solution? Is it possible there are certain agendas afoot here and those in a position of influence are using that position to influence us? You don't think that's possible?
If you don't, you are a perfect target. Trust no one; question everything.
One wonders if Greer will get as much face time on Fox now that he likes the speech as he got when he didn't like it.

Tracy B Ann says: Do you think Presidents Reagan or George H Bush provided transcripts when they addressed America's children?
I can't vouch for Reagan, but political opponents did attack HW Bush for his 1991 speech to schools.
