Republic F.C. to host West Bromwich Albion F.C. in two scheduled "friendlies"

Sacramento Republic F.C. will play two "friendlies" next month at Bonney Field against the English Premier League’s West Bromwich Albion FC on July 21 and July 25. Both games are scheduled for a 7:30 P.M. kick-off Monday and Friday respectfully. Tickets for the game will be sold beginning July 1st at Season ticket holders will receive passes for the first game and if any indication on how the first two sporting events that were held over the weekend at Bonney Field went, these tickets will sellout fast.

West Bromwich Albion F.C. was founded in 1878 (as the West Bromwich Strollers) and are affectionaltly known as the "Baggies" due to the fact that their fans wore baggy trousers. Other sources says that it was because the players wore baggy shorts or that the rooters were called "bagmen". West Bromwich has won the Premier League Championship once (1919-1920 season) and the Second League Championship back in 2007-2008 season. The "friendlies" are part of the Albions' 11 day traning trip to the United States that will take place Thursday, July 17 through Sunday, July 27.

This is the third of four scheduled "friendlies" between the Sacramento Republic F.C. and other association football clubs from around the globe. Sacramento will play Club Atlas F.C. on July 6 and the Scottish Rangers F.C. July 19. The Republic F.C. will play their next home game on Thursday, June 26 against the Arizonia United S.C.
