Republic F.C returns to USL Pro play when they face the Riverhounds

The Sacramento Republic F.C. return to USL Pro League play this Sunday night when they host the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. For the past week and a half, Sacramento has played three friendlies with association football clubs Rangers F.C. and West Bromwich Albion F.C. Even though the Republic lost all three they played a with a tremendous effort and hopefully the exposure to these more experienced clubs will rub off on them. Sacramento so far this season is unbeaten at Bonney Field in league play with a record of 3-0-1.

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds are in second to last place in the USL Pro League with a record of 5-10-5. But the team is on a two game winning streak with victories over the Charlotte Eagles and the Real Salt Lake Reserves. Pittsburgh is led in scoring by forward Jose Angulo with eight goals followed by forward Collins John with four goals and one assist. Sacramento's last USL Pro game was a 0-0 tie with the number one ranked team Orlando City S.C. The Republic is led by midfielder Rodrigo Lopez with five goals and six assists followed by forward Tommy Stewart who has recorded five goals and two assists.

Kick-off for Sunday night's game is scheduled for 7:00 P.M. Tomorrow night is also the last day of the California State Fair at Cal Expo and ticket holders will be able to enter the State Fair for free the day of the game.
