Sacramento Republic F.C. lose on the road to the Richmond Kickers 2-1 Saturday night in front of an announced crowd of 2,135 attending the game at City Stadium. The matchup was real close between to the two teams as they battled it out for the first 3/4ths of the game to a 0-0 standstill. Sacramento and Richmond played each other tough for the first sixty-three minutes of the game. The Kickers and Republic F.C. had several scoring opportunities before hand to try and take the lead but neither team was able to capitalize.

The tie was broken in the 64th minute when Adam Jahn headbutted the ball pass the befuddled Richmond goalie Joe Willis and into the net. It was a quick strike that gave Sacramento a 1-0 lead. Sadly the lead would evaporate two minutes later when Matthew Delicate would come off the bench and score on a one-on-one with Sacramento's goalie Jake Gleeson in the 66th minute to tie it up at 1-1. Then it would go all pear shape for the Republic as the goal seem to reinvigorate the Kickers. Sacramento's head coach Preki was furious about a penalty that wasn't called which led to the goal by Richmond as noted by the broadcasters.

The Republic missed a scoring chance in the 68th minute when a rocket shot from Rodrigo Lopez missed the Richmond goal by a few inches. Delicate would score his second goal of the game in the 78th minute with a quick hook shot past Gleeson to give the Kickers a 2-1 lead and they would hold on for sixteen more minutes for the victory. Sacramento will travel to Charlotte to face the Eagles. Kick-off for tomorrow's game is scheduled for 4:00 PDT. You can either watch the game at, or follow the live results at
