Sacramento Republic F.C. were defeated by the Oklahoma City Energy F.C. 2-0 saturday night at Pribil Stadium (located on the campus of Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School) in Oklahoma City. The loss was the second straight for Sacramento against the same club (Republic lost 2-0 to the Energy on June 14) and road defeat. The Energy are undefeated in their last five game (3-0-2) and Sacramento's winning streak ends at two. Tonight's game took place at 7:00 P.M. (local time) and it was a humid warm evening.

The game started out with Sacramento surprisingly dominating the first half of the game. But the wet pitch and humid weather factored into the way the Republic would play later on. Sacramento had several scoring opportunities early on but they were unable to score. The Energy like wise couldn't get any points on the board and missed on a few chances. By the end of the first half the score was 0-0.

The second started out like the first with neither team being able to get an advantage. But O.K.C. would strike first in the 53rd minute when Mark Howard (assisted by Adda Djeziri) scored giving the Energy a 1-0 lead. Sacramento tried to make a comeback but were shut down by O.K.C.'s defense. Despite a late push from the Republic, the Energy would score again in the 67th minute with a goal from Mikey Lopez (assisted by Steven Perry) widen the lead to 2-0. The score would remain as the Energy would play tighten down and keep Sacramento out of the net for a 2-0 victory.

With the loss Sacramento falls to 8-5-2 whilst the Energy improves to 6-8-3. The Republic head back home to host the Orange County Blues F.C. on July 4th at 7:30 P.M. and it will be played at Bonney Field. To purchase tickets please visit
