Paulding County local Boy Scout Troop 735 held a Court of Honor ceremony at Dallas First United Methodist Church yesterday, to honor Carter Jonathan Hobbs with the Eagle Scout award.
Georgia State Representative Paulette Braddock (R-19) attended the honor ceremony and she sponsored the passage of a resolution to recognize Eagle scouts in Georgia and she congratulates Carter on this outstanding achievement.
Rep. Braddock said, “We are so proud of Carter becoming an Eagle Scout. We expect to see great things from him in the future. Scouting teaches so many great skills to young boys – when they continue the scouting program into adulthood, they go out into the world prepared to meet life’s challenges. Eagle Scouts work hard to master a diverse set of skills and the goal setting and attainment process prepares them to set new goals for their life and work hard to achieve those enabling tremendous successes for these Eagle Scouts in the other areas of their life.”
Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). A Scout who attains this rank is called an Eagle Scout or Eagle. Since its introduction in 1911, more than 2 million young men have earned the Eagle Scout rank. The title of Eagle Scout is held for life, thus giving rise to the phrase "Once an Eagle, always an Eagle".
