Reports, Reality, Responsibility & Re-election

COMMENTARY

Chris Matthews and other ‘analysts,’ considering themselves wise, disparage the candidacy of Michele Bachmann. They gutter snipe the attorney turned congresswoman. They claim her potential run for the presidency is ridiculous. Well, last quarter, she raised $2.2 million, more than most anyone else in the Republican field, save for Ron Paul. Chris and friends appear wise in their own eyes, and ridiculous to everyone else. Gutter snipes indeed.

Speaking of gutter sniping: President Obama says letting the government shutdown would be irresponsible. Fine one to talk.

The President and his political party busted the budget, ran up record deficits, and failed to pass a budget on time six months ago. They are participating in gross misrepresentations, sabotaging budget deliberations, and trying to forestall necessary spending cuts, only to protect constituencies.

Irresponsible all right.

If a temporary shutdown saves the patient, all the better. That would be responsible.  If the President prevails---preventing cuts and continuing the orgy of spending---both the government and the economy will flat line. That’s irresponsible.

If the government shuts down, temporarily, or for an extended period, it will be entirely the fault of liars like Harry Reid (“the Tea Party is evil”) and this President, people whose sole existence centers of the acquisition and exercise of power, even if it means destroying the country. Talk to us about being responsible Mr. President.

Speaking of the government, it is the largest employer in the country. Between entitlements, other forms of welfare, food stamps and government jobs, most Americans are now utterly dependent upon the government. Government has become a robber baron, taking from the productive to subsidize handouts and the bureaucracy, the ‘workers’ paradise, a dictatorship of the proletariat.  Is it any wonder we are sinking lower on every measurable front?  Is it any wonder Obama insists on keeping the ball rolling? After all, he can’t disappoint millions of his voters on the dole.

Speaking of disappointments, the President and his clown economists claim the drop in unemployment announced yesterday is a sure sign the economy is in full recovery. Of course it’s a bold-faced lie carried on the hot winds of the MSM to bolster Obama’s re-election chances.  Obama’s labor department, laboring to have us believe false numbers, says unemployment is below 9%.  Gallup says it is at 10%.  Underemployment is at about 19%, pretty much where it has been for a year at least.

Then the glowing reports that oil prices are spiking to record levels thanks in large measure to Obama’s Libyan war for oil along with reports the Fed loaned tens of billions to foreign powers, under the table it seems, even to the likes of Libya.

Now what are we doing loaning money to a rich guy who kills his people, and ours?

Very responsible.
