Reports from older Xbox 360 owners –– roughly from 2006 to 2008 –– have been experiencing freezing problems with GTA 5, with some gamers reporting the game is locking up soon after the first mission.
Attempts to reinstall the game or shifting the installation haven’t changed the problem, according to the report.
A representative from Rockstar Games reportedly told one gamer that the developer is looking into the problem and in the meanwhile they recommend clearing the console’s cache and reinstalling the game.
The launch of GTA 5 hasn’t exactly been the smoothest, as reports last week had the graphics lagging noticeably after installing the second disc for the Xbox 360.
However, a work around was found when with gamers uploading the game to their Xbox 360 consoles with an external hard drive, which seemed to solve the problem.
Graphics errors also occurred with PlayStation Network digital downloads for the PS3. You can read the Examiner report on the news here.
