Reporter Miguel Marquez of ABC News attacked, beaten (VIDEO)
People from Cleveland to Cairo are watching this ABC News video of ABC reporter Miguel Marquez being beaten and attacked by a mob in Manama, Bahrain.
"Millions of people are watching revolution unfold in Egypt because of advances in digital communication," wrote Macie Nosel of Cleveland.
Indeed, the video that shows a pic of Marquez and audio of him screaming "Journalist! Journalist!" in an attempt to save his own life is one of the most popular videos on ABC's website as of this writing.
"I just got beat rather badly by a gang of thugs," the reporter can be heard saying after the attack.
"I'm now in a marketplace... where people are cowering," he continues, observing, "I mean these people are not screwing around."
The new attack of another reporter comes on the heels of CBS correspondent Lara Logan being sexually assaulted and attacked during the fevered celebrations of President Mubarak agreeing to step down recently.
These happenings serve to bring to light how brave journalists covering dangeous regions can be in the name of truth.
