The Philadelphia 76ers will sign rookie center Dewayne Dedmon to a 10-day contract according to multiple reports late Monday.

The 24-year-old Dedmon averaged 15.2 points, 13.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 15 games this season for the Santa Cruz Warriors - Golden State's D-League affiliate - making him one of the NBDL's top prospects.

The Sixers are desperate for size with big men Lavoy Allen and Arnett Moultrie sidelined with injuries. The team waived reserve center Daniel Orton last week and Dedmon will take the open roster spot.

Dedmon did not play basketball in high school. He began playing the game at Antelope Valley College before transferring to USC where he appeared in 51 games for the Trojans.

He went undrafted in 2013 and played in the NBA summer leagues before being invited to Golden State's training camp. He appeared in four games for the Warriors earlier this season.
