Is Sean Hannity's time as the Fox News prime time master coming to an end?
Fox News has well established itself as the number one cable news station in the United States, catering to conservancies who take their word as gospel and liberals who love to scream at the TV screen. While Fox News continues to dominate the ratings, a new report within conservative circles is suggesting new changes. The "golden boy" of conservative news is Sean Hannity. With a smirk that you either love or hate, Hannity has held strong rating numbers on television and on the radio, but a new report from Matt Drudge of the "Drudge Report" claims that female anchor Megyn Kelly will be handed Hannity's current 9pm weekday time slot.
Hannity's current contract runs though the 2016 presidential election, so a bump of Hannity would come as a surprise. Following the release of the report from Drudge, Fox News president Roger Ailes noted that all current stars would remain and gave high praise to Hannity in the process.
"(Hannity) is a brand that many of our viewers love and want to see, and, as you know, is one of the nicest guys in the building.”
With all the confusion piling up within hours, Fox News issued a statement that didn't confirm or deny any changes moving forward.
“We will neither confirm nor deny any programming schedule changes. As previously stated, the network has signed long-term deals with Megyn Kelly, Bret Baier, Shepard Smith, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren."
A shake up at the conservative Fox News might be some what surprising considering their strong hold with viewers, but with MSNBC finding their nitch with liberals and CNN in the middle of a shake up as well, Fox News could be running with the pack to prevent them from falling back. At the end of the day, no matter who is sitting behind the desk, conservatives will cling to the three things that they trust in the United States, guns, god and Fox News.
