Robin's days are numbered in DC's 'Batman Incorporated' comic book.
Robin the Boy Wonder is killed at the end of issue No. 8, due to be released on Feb. 27, 2013.
Just two days before the "Batman Incorporated" No. 8 comic is available for sale, DC Comics gave exclusive details to the New York Post about Robin's death.
The Post reports that Robin will be killed "battling a brutal enemy" in the comic book that will release on Wednesday.
DC Comics tells the New York Post that the "aftermath of his death will ripple throughout the DC Comics universe."
"He saves the world. He does his job as Robin. He dies an absolute hero." - "Batman Incorporated" writer Grant Morrison.
Damian Wayne plays Robin, the illegitimate son of Bruce Wayne, in the comic book. Prior to his death at the end of the comic, he reportedly has a "heart-to-heart" with Nightwing. He will then battle to his death.
The story of Robin the Boy Wonder getting killed will also have some elements that reflect on family and divorce.
Writer Grant Morrison tells the New York Post that the "Batman Incorporated" No. 8 is "all about the family and the family going to hell ... the two adults in the story are both culpable. The kid’s the good guy.”
