Report: Ricky Jean Francois agrees to deal with Colts

Ricky Jean Francois is the sixth player to leave the 49ers from the 2012 roster. On Thursday afternoon he agreed to a four-year, $22 million contract with the Indianapolis Colts, according to multiple sources.

Jean Francois became a versatile defensive lineman when he was able to play both the NT and DE positions. He started three games last year, including the final two in the regular season when Justin Smith was out with a torn triceps.

On Wednesday night, Jean Francois flew out to Indianapolis after visiting the Philadelphia Eagles, who signed former 49ers nose tackle Isaac Sopoaga to a three-year, $12 million deal. Jean Francois’ deal with the Colts was first reported by the Baltimore Sun.

With the losses of Sopoaga and Jean Francois, the 49ers responded by signing former Chiefs defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey on Wednesday to a two-year deal.

Others to leave the 49ers since losing Super Bowl XLVII are QB Alex Smith (traded to the Kansas City), K David Akers (released), S Dashon Goldson (signed with Tampa Bay) and TE Delanie Walker (signed with Tennessee).
