The Ravens didn't get much of anything out of their tight end corps during their season opener against the Denver Broncos. With Dennis Pitta injured the Ravens are hurting at the tight end position. Baltimore will try to solve this problem when they bring in free agent TE Jake Ballard for a work out on Monday.
Jake Ballard previously worked with both the Giants and Patriots before being cut by New England last month. The veteran tight end previously caught 38 catches for over 600 yards and 4 touchdowns in the 2011. Ballard became an option primarily because of dropped passes and poor route running by the Ravens receiving corps during last Thursday's 49-27 loss to the Broncos.
The Ravens will be actively searching for help in other areas of the football team according to sources. The Ravens could also be looking for help at wide receiver and offensive tackle after Jacoby Jones and Michael Oher went down with injuries during the season opener.
