Patton is the third wide receiver injured this season with Mario Manningham (ACL) and Michael Crabtree (Achilles) being on the PUP list. Harbaugh said that Patton will remain on the 53-man roster as he will miss some time.
A foot fracture injury takes about six weeks to recover from and Patton will be one of the seven inactive players for the upcoming month.
Both Marlon Moore and Kyle Williams have an opportunity to be the slot receiver with Patton being out. Jon Baldwin is most likely the No. 2 receiver behind Anquan Boldin.
