What certainly can't bode well for the recipient of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, the writers of a soon to be released tell-all book on Barack Obama claims he once made a point of blowing his own horn regarding his expertise in the dispatching of human beings, as reported by the Business Insider via Yahoo News on Nov. 2, 2013.
In their soon to be released book "Double Down," journalists Mark Halperin and John Heilemann retell that during the 2012 presidential election, Obama bragged to his aides that he's "really good at killing people" while discussing the massive increase in the drone strikes he ordered.
Besides the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize ordering the 2009 surge of tens of thousands of more American combat troops to the Afghanistan Theater of Operation, he increased George Bush's drone attack from 52 to well over 500.
As cited, Obama has sanctioned the following:
- 326 drone strikes in Pakistan.
- 93 in Yemen
- An unknown (still classified) number in Somalia.
- An additional 145 Predator drone hits during the NATO controlled attacks on Libya in 2011.
As Commander-in-Chief, Obama undoubtedly authorized the latest drone hits that killed the Pakistani Taliban leader Hakimullah Mehsud as well as the deaths of two top leaders of the al-Qaeda-allied as well as the Somali-based militant group al-Shabaab earlier last week.
According to investigative journalist Jeremy Scahill, author of “Dirty Wars: The World Is A Battlefield,” Obama will go down in history "as the president who legitimized and systematized a process by which the United States asserts the right to conduct assassination operations around the world."
