Beatles Examiner has learned from a reliable source that a new film to be released later this year will feature a brand new Paul McCartney song.
The song is reportedly called "(I Want To) Come Home," and is to be included in the film "Everybody's Fine," which is set to be released in December, according to IMDB.com. A spokesman for Paul McCartney replied "wait and see" to an inquiry about the song.
The movie stars Robert DeNiro, Drew Barrymore and Kate Beckinsale. A plotline summary about the film on IMDB.com reads "a widower who realized his only connection to his family was through his wife sets off on an impromptu road trip to reunite with each of his grown children."
Update: We received an email from Bob Gannon, who took many of the pictures we featured in our coverage of the McCartney U.S. mini-tour. Bob told us, "That sounds like the soundcheck song that he played at Fenway on August 5th. Those were the words we were keying on as he sang."'

So, Mr Gannon, did you like the song?
From BG's original report from the soundcheck at Fenway:
He then played a brand new song possibly named ("Been too long?", "I wanna go home", or "So Long") it was tough to pick out the chorus as the sound was a little rough during this song. At the end of the song, Abe said "they should hear the recorded version" and Paul responded "I'm not going to play the recorded version for them". So we possibly have some new songs recorded for the next studio album already.
So great!
Did anyone tape that rehearsal ?
Um, in other words, a new McCartney song may be used in an upcoming movie.
He played that at the Atlanta soudcheck as well - a group of us were listening in and trying to figure what the song was....but he had stumped us! Good to finally figure it out!
Got something to say?
