The 49ers lost another free agent this offseason with Mario Manningham reaching an agreement to return to the New York Giants on a one-year deal, according to Albert Breer.

Manningham initially signed with the 49ers in 2012 where he is most remembered for a spectacular catch in Super Bowl XLVI against the New England Patriots. In 18 games with the 49ers, he had 51 receptions for 534 yards and one touchdown.

The wide receiver was never the same when he tore two ligaments in a collision against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 16 of 2012. He started the 2013 season on the PUP list before he appeared in six games. Manningham finished 2013 with nine receptions for 85 yards and was placed on the injured reserve on December 27.

Manningham is the fourth 49ers free agent to sign with a different team. This includes S Donte Whitner (Cleveland Browns), CB Tarell Brown (Oakland Raiders) and running back Anthony Dixon (Buffalo Bills) signing elsewhere.
