Khloe Kardashian is reportedly following an extreme 400-calorie-a-day diet to lose even more weight following her 30-pound weight loss.
“Khloe’s doing morning fasting and doesn’t eat a single thing until 2 pm,” a source told HeatWorld (via Wetpaint Feb. 20). “She only has a small piece of chicken or a can of tuna and steamed veggies for lunch, snacking on celery until dinner, when she has a protein shake and more vegetables."
Kardashian, who has struggled with weight her entire life, is reportedly reeling from her divorce from former Los Angeles Laker Lamar Odom.
“She’s not in a good place,” said an insider. “Her self-esteem took such a hit when she broke up with Lamar. Everyone in her life is begging her to eat more, but Khloe is refusing."
Kardashian revealed she lost 30 pounds last year, thanks to a portion-controlled diet and rigorous workouts. "I've lost around 30 pounds, and I'm feeling good," she said. "I've worked very hard on my body."
The 5-foot-10 Khloe works out four to five days a week doing boxing and lots of cardio exercise. She also does Pilates, hikes, and circuit-trains.
Kardashian is now a confident young woman, but confessed she was hurt when her mother, Kris Jenner, suggested she get plastic surgery as a child.
"She didn’t mean harm, but when I was around nine I overheard my mom telling her friend I needed a nose job," Khloe recalled. "I was shocked. I hadn't even thought about it. I've grown into my face but I've had makeup artists tell me, 'You should get a nose job.'"
Kardashian has steadfastly refused to cave in to the pressure to get plastic surgery, but admitted her mom's comments haunt her to this day. "Words are the most powerful weapon," she said. "They can leave scars forever."
Meanwhile, Kardashian's stepfather, Bruce Jenner, is making headlines after undergoing plastic surgery to flatten his Adam's apple. Media reports claim Jenner is seeking a sex-change operation, but his family dismissed the speculation as "absurd."
