San Francisco 49ers starting NT Ian Williams is out indefinitely with a broken ankle, according to Pro Football Talk. Williams went down after being tripped up by Seahawks OL J.R. Sweezy on the 49ers second defensive series. Glenn Dorsey came in to replace Williams.
Dorsey was a free agent signing by the 49ers in the offseason. He signed a two-year contract with $6 million in April. A former first round pick of the Chiefs, the sixth year DL can play both DE and NT if needed.
The 49ers now have five healthy defensive lineman on their 53 man roster. They are Glenn Dorsey, Justin Smith, Ray McDonald, Demarcus Dobbs and Tony Jerod-Eddie. Jerod-Eddie was the only inactive defensive lineman for Sunday's game.
