Report: Hummer to be wound down

After months of trying to complete a sale of its Hummer SUV brand to Chinese concern Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machines Co. Ltd., General Motors announced today that the sale will not be completed and the brand will be wound down.

It's unclear what exactly scuttled the sale, but considering that the deal was subject to approval from the Chinese government, it's likely that environmental concerns played a large role.
