Report: Anthony Dixon will sign with Buffalo Bills

The 49ers have lost another free agent for the third time since Tuesday. Anthony Dixon tweeted that he will be signing with the Buffalo Bills on Friday night with the following statement:

"So glad to be the newest member of the Buffalo Bills...gonna make this thang offficial in the morning...#BillsMafia"

Dixon was initially a sixth-round pick out of Mississippi State during the 2010 NFL Draft. With the 49ers already loaded at the running back position and with a share of fullbacks, the team had no reason to re-sign him unless it was for special teams.

On offense, Dixon was used sparingly as a fullback as well as a running back when the game was already decided. However, he scored the 49ers final rushing touchdown of the season on a one-yard rush over a pile of offensive lineman against the Seattle Seahawks.

In 64 regular season games with the 49ers, Dixon accumulated 458 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.
