San Francisco 49ers RT Anthony Davis said on social media that he had surgery for the first time in his football career. The starting offensive lineman posted a photo on his Instagram of himself wearing a sling on his left arm. In the photo, he was asked if he tore his labrum. Davis responded saying it was both a torn labrum and bicep injury.

The 49erss starting right tackle said on his Twitter that he tore his labrum and bicep in Week 3 vs. the Indianapolis Colts, which means he played through his injury through 16 games, including the three in the postseason. He started in every single game with the 49ers during the 2013 NFL season.

"[I] never made excuses, just got the job done," Davis said on in his Instagram. "This game has a way of seeing what you're really made of. One of the reasons I love it. Next season I get to use both arms."

Davis signed an extension last offseason which made gave him the longest contract on the current 49ers roster. He is currently signed through the 2019 NFL season, one year more than NaVorro Bowman and Andy Lee.

There is no statement from the 49ers on this with no timetable for Davis. The team will start their offseason conditioning activities on Monday.
