San Francisco 49ers practice squad OL Al Netter was arrested and charged for a DUI on Wednesday, according to a report by the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.
The 49ers released the following statement on the incident:
"The 49ers are aware of the recent matter involving Al Netter. We take these issues very seriously but will reserve comment at this time as this is an ongoing legal matter. The organization will continue to gather the facts and monitor the developments closely."
Netter signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent on April 28, 2012 and was signed to a future/reserve contract on February 7, four after the Super Bowl.
He spent the entire 2012 season as a member on the practice squad.
