The San Francisco 49ers have waived OLB Darius Fleming, CB Dax Swanson and WR DeMarco Sampson on Monday afternoon, according to Matt Maiocco. The releasing of these three players are to make room for all undrafted free agents.
On Saturday the 49ers signed QB Kory Faulkner (Southern Illinois), OLB Morgan Breslin (USC), S L.J. McCray (Catawba), C Dillon Farrell (New Mexico), OT Fou Fonoti (Michigan State) and LB Shane Skov (Stanford) who were all undrafted free agents. The 49ers also need room for their 12 draft picks on the team's 90-man roster.
Fleming was originally a fifth-round draft pick of the 49ers during the 2012 NFL Draft from Notre Dame. He suffered a torn ACL in both offseasons 2012 and 2013 with the first being in OTAs and the second in training camp. RB LaMichael James and OL Joe Looney are the only two players left on the 49ers from the 49ers 2012 Draft class.
Sampson initially signed a futures contract with the team in January while Swanson joined the practice squad in the middle of the 2013 season.
