The 49ers announced on Friday evening that they signed CB Kenneth Acker to a four-year contract. Acker becomes the sixth draft pick to sign while six more players are currently unsigned.

Acker will be competing for time on special teams as he has excellent speed. In the future, he could develop into a defensive back for dime and nickel defense. Acker will join a mix of Perrish Cox, Eric Wright and Chris Cook for a spot on the roster. He should be behind Chris Culliver, Tramaine Brock, Dontae Johnson and Jimmie Ward on the depth chart.

On his pro day, Acker had a 36-inch vertical leap while showing scouts he has a good reaction to any ball coming his way.

Jimmie Ward, Chris Borland, Brandon Thomas, Trey Millard, Marcus Martin and Bruce Ellington are the six 49ers draft picks from the 2014 NFL draft who remain unsigned.
