The San Francisco 49ers reached an agreement with Perrish Cox to a one-year deal, according to his agent Jordan Woy. Previously, the 49ers didn't tender him, making the CB an unrestricted free agent.

He tweeted a photo of himself on his Instagram signing his new contract and had the following statement:

"Happy for the opportunity 2 join my brothers again with the @49ers on the #quest4six, lets get it!!"

Cox was cut by the 49ers in November and briefly spent a few days with the Seattle Seahawks during the 2013 season. He later returned for the wild card round against the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs with the injury to Carlos Rogers. Cox had significant playing time as the nickel CB where he leaped in front of Eric Wright on the depth chart.

Cox joins a mix of Wright, Chris Cook, Chris Culliver, Dax Swanson and Darryl Morris for the starting CB spot to play opposite side of Tramaine Brock. He can also contribute on special teams as an emergency punt returner as well as playing on coverage units.
