Rep. Mike Pence to hold fundraiser

The Indiana Republican Party has announced a fundraiser for Congressman Mike Pence that will occur on Feb. 12, 2010 in Rushville, Indiana. Pence, who recently announced that he will not be running against Evan Bayh in the November elections this year, is campaigning for his sixth term as the representative for Indiana’s 6th district. The cost for the event is $100 per couple and will be held between 5:00 and 6:30 pm.

Mike Pence has been very busy since being elected to Congress in 2000. He is currently serving on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, an important committee that has taken him all over the globe including Iraq and Afghanistan to visit Hoosier troops. He has also served on the Agriculture, Judiciary, and Small Business Committees. Pence has also either authored or championed several pieces of important legislation. Pence authored farming legislation helping Hoosier farmers to diversify their crops without fear of penalty. He has also led the charge on protecting children, authoring both the Truth in Domain Names Act and the Child Pornography Prevention Act. His efforts in stopping government funding of abortion led him to introduce the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, which would help to stop government funds from going to family planning organizations that provide abortions.
