Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) apologized to BP CEO Tony Haywood today for the way the White House treated BP’s Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg and insisting that BP create a $20 Billion fund to compensate American Citizens whose lives have been impacted by BP’s incompetence and greed.
Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) apologized to BP, Barton doesn’t think that that should be the other way around. Amazing.
Well not really amazing, for several weeks now we have seen Republicans in Congress pushing for the Tax payer to pay for the clean up. Minority John Boehner (R-OH) that both the federal government and BP should be held responsible.
Last week John Boehner (R-OH) said, "I think the people responsible in the oil spill--BP and the federal government--should take full responsibility for what's happening there”. He is saying that tax payers should also pay.
Earlier this week, Michele Bachmann (R-MN) said that a $20 billion victims escrow amounted to “wealth redistribution,” urged BP executives not to be “chumps,” and said the Obama administration was “fleecing” BP.
And today Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) apologizes to BP because President Obama held them accountable. Barton’s next career, after he leaves Congress, undoubtedly will be in the oil industry.
Today Fox News didn’t think that Barton’s apology to BP should be seen in its entirety by its viewers, might send the wrong message, watch the video, you’ll see for yourself.
