Renting Christmas at Hayswood Theatre

See also

Some people will go to extreme lengths to enjoy Christmas, even if that means renting one. Hayswood Theatre will showcase The Rented Christmas this weekend.

The Rented Christmas will take place on Dec. 13 and 14 at 8 p.m. each night. Two shows will take place on Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. All performances are to go on at Hayswood Theatre, located at 115 S. Capitol Ave. in Corydon, IN.

Tickets for each show are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $12 for students. Due to limited seating reservations are highly recommended and can be made by calling 812-738-2138.

Who knew that a life-changing event could be sparked by a spur-of-the-moment decision? John Dale, after not having what he considers to be a real Christmas, decides to rent one, complete with a tree, presents, Christmas carols, and even a wife, and five children.

Anne Weston, owner of the local rent shop, somehow pulls it together with actors filling the roles of the wife and children. Unfortunately, the actors fall ill with the measles, and Anne must call upon an orphanage to fill the newly-empty roles. Anne also must fill in as the wife for John.

Despite the random idea and last-minute changes, this rented Christmas will become a life-changing experience for everyone involved.

More information on the show can be found at the Hayswood Theatre Facebook page.
