Rent-A-Cop busts mall donut bandit

During a wild spree of mall parking lot donuts, a rent-a-cop busts the mall donut bandit mid drift. Doing donuts in a mall parking lot is pure bliss, but it's technically illegal more ways than one. If you're mall parking lot is considered a public thoroughfare, you're looking at minimum of reckless driving charges. If your folly of chaos takes place on private property, you'll be facing destruction of property and vandalism charges. Either way you go, the fun doesn't balance out with the repercussions; that is if you're caught. Doing donuts in parking lots now compared to back in the day is completely different thanks to security surveillance technology.

Today's technology can bust you ten ways to next Tuesday for screwing around and marking up their pavement, and it's for a good reason. Have you seen the prices of getting a parking lot repaved or sealed? They are through the roof. For an average size parking lot, you're looking at spending upwards of $10,000 USD just on sealant alone. That doesn't include labor, transport costs, etc. There is a reason the owners get upset about people doing burnouts, and it's not just to "spoil the fun".

The following clip shows a classic Mercury Capri flexing it's vintage muscle. The Mercury Capri was actually a highly sought after vehicle, as it's basically the Mustang fox body with a more luxurious trim. The second generation Capri was the only one to share a chassis with the infamous Mustang, thus bringing it into the world of modified performance possibilities. With stock motors ranging from an economic 2.3 liter inline four cylinder up to the legendary 5.0 found in Mustangs, the Capri was a great vehicle for Ford's bottom line as well as bang for buck regarding the customer's thrill. Just as you see in this video, the Capri was more than just a pretty face, it had the brute force to satisfy even the most thirsty of motorsport fiends.

There is no "technically" illegal to it. It is illegal. Period. And no matter how many times the driver has watched Fast and the Furious, it's dangerous, especially for the kind of novice that would do something this dumb in a public place. Your weak "technically illegal" and "if you get caught" disclaimers do nothing to deter this silliness. You're encouraging it.
