While there are no big wine events this week in Reno, there are lots of fun tastings and one delicious class.
Wednesday, October 9th, 2013:
Whispering Vines, the Foothill location is hosting a tasting with Textbook out of Napa. The cost is $25 for a flight of four.
Thursday, October 10th, 2013:
Total Wine has a class from 6:30 to 8:30 on Bordeaux. Eight wines will be offered as you learn about the different appelations of Bordeaux. The cost is $25.
Whispering Vines, both locations are hosting a tasting with Girard. The cost is $15 for a flight of four.
John Ascuaga's Nugget is featuring J Lohr Vineyards in their tapas and tasting from 5 to 8 pm. It consists of four wines with four food pairings for $20.
Friday, October 11th, 2013:
Ben's Fine Wine and Liquor is hosting three different tastings at their three different locations. At their Lakeside location they will be pouring Ferrari Carano. The Sparks location is featuring Gnarly Head. And the 4th Street location is having a Leese Fitch tasting. All tastings are from 4:30 to 6:30 and the cost is $5.
Total Wine will be sampling Rhone Wines at their tasting bar from noon to 6. The cost is free.
Saturday, October 12th, 2013:
Total Wine will continue the Rhone Wine tasting at their tasting bar from noon to 6. The cost is still free.
Sunday, October 13th, 2013:
Total Wine will be sampling Rioja from Castillo de Clavijo. Rioja is a region in Spain that is especially known for its Tempronillo, a rich, red wine. Tastings will be available from noon to 4 pm and the cost is free.
October 19th: The South Creek Sip and Stroll in the South Creek Shopping Center from 1pm to 4pm. The cost is $20. Wrist bands are available at Whispering Vines.
November 8th: The Whispering Vine Company 15th Anniversary is being celebrated at the Nevada Museum of Art from 6pm to 9 pm. They will be featuring 40 'bubbles' and 100 wines. Tickets are $35 in advance and available at both store locations.
