Reno Wine Events; April 16 to April 20, 2014

Are you looking for a fun wine event this week? Maybe you would like to taste and learn about some wines you have not, yet tried. Maybe you are looking for something fun and different to do with friends. Here are the wine events that are going on in and around Reno over the next few days.

On Wednesday, April 16 Whispering Vine's Foothill location is serving up some of Australia's best producers. Featured in the tasting are Penfold's and d'Arenburg among others. The costs is $30. 85 Foothill Road. They are open from 11am to 8pm.

Also, on Wednesday at South Lake Tahoe in the Edgewood Clubhouse Grapes and Gates, a food and wine event to benefit the Heaenly Ski and Snowboard Scholarship Fund will feature wineries such as Caymus, Grgich Hills and Rombauer among others. The food tasting are provided by area restaurants such as Café Fiore, Riva Grill and MacDuff's. The event goes from 6pm to 10pm. The cost is $75.

On Thursday, April 17 both the Mayberry and Foothill lacations for Whispering Vine will offer tastings of wines from the Hahn Winery in the Central Coast of California. 3886 Mayberry Drive, 85 Foothill Road. The cost is $15.

On Friday, April 18 Ben's Fine Wine and Spirits is offering tastings of wines of Chile in their Lakeside store. The Keystone and South Virginia stores are offering Italian wines from Toccata and Zenato wineries. The cost is $5.

Total Wine will be offering tips and tastings for holiday food and wine pairing at their tasting table from noon to 6pm. The cost is free. The same tasting is also offered on Saturday from noon to 6pm and on Sunday from noon to 4pm.

On Saturday, April 19 Total Wine has invited the Chappellet Winery to do a live virtual tasting. Cyril Chappallet and Philip Titus will be live webcasting from their Pritchard Hill winery as you taste through 8 of their wines from this trendy subregion of Napa. The event is from 1pm to 3pm. The cost is $20.
