We're experiencing a quiet wine week-end in Reno. While there are no major events in town, there are a few nice tastings that will be worth a visit.
On Thursday, October 3rd, John Asguaga's Nugget will be featuring Sebastiani Vineyard wines from Sonoma. The flight includes four wines, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Each wine is paired with a chef-inspired dish. The tasting is from 5 pm to 8 pm. The cost is $20.
On Friday, October 4th, Total Wine is offering two free tastings. One is Montaudon Champagne from Reims. The second is River Road Wines out of Sonoma County. Both tastings are free and are available from noon to 6 pm on Friday. The River Road Wine tasting is also available at the store on Saturday from noon to 6 pm and on Sunday from noon to 4 pm.
If you are looking for a bigger wine event in the area, you'll need to drive over the hill to Sonoma. From Friday October 4th through Sunday, October 6th, the Sonoma County Harvest Fair will feature tastings and demonstrations of food, wine and beer. The cost of a one day ticket is $50.
