The Reno shooting left the gunman and another person dead Tuesday at a medical building near the Renown Regional Medical Center. Two people who were also shot are in critical condition. The shooter died from a self-inflected gunshot wound, according to CNN on Dec. 18.

As Fox News suggests, the shooting had a few people reporting from inside the building on the social networks yesterday. Some of the folks who sheltered in place inside the medical building were sending frequent updates, like Senator Debbie Smith. She used her social network account to post live updates of what it was like from inside the building.

Throughout the first hours of the shooting, people took to Twitter and Facebook to update the shooting. Most of the folks conveyed shock and confusion over the prevalence of these shootings today. It feels to many that it is happening everywhere.

The shooter open fire after making his way into the urology office of Nevada Advanced Medicine on the third floor of the building. A person hiding on the floor below said she heard two large “booms” and scurrying on the floor above her.

Police arrived quickly to the many calls of shots fired. They went right to work telling everyone to lock their office doors and stay in place. The building did not contain armed guards.

Police still do not have a motive in this shooting, but they are saying that the shooting was not a random act. Apparently the shooter had a target in mind, but who that person or persons may be, the police have not divulged any names to the public at this time.
