The sands in the hourglass will continue to fall on NBC's "Days of our Lives" according to TVLine.com
NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt discussed the fate of the network's sole soap opera during the Television Critics Association's winter press tour on Sunday. "I think Days is going to stick around," said the exec to reporters. "I don't know that I'm at liberty to say that officially yet, but it's not going anywhere."
Days of our Lives' last renewals came in 2010. The first, announced in March 2010, would keep the show on the air through 2011. The next renewal came eight months later in November 2010. Executive producer Ken Corday announced during the series' 45th anniversary party that the soap was renewed through September 2013.
This news should ease fears from fans who worried about the shows future given its ratings woes. The soap continues to rank last in total viewers and the coveted 18-49 demographic.
