Renewal, awakening are goals of two Front Range worship events

Lifting up the name of Jesus Christ is the unofficial theme for several nights of worship along the Front Range in February and March.

Beginning this week, Resurrection Fellowship in Loveland hosts Convergence 2012, a four-day conference emphasizing prophecy, healing, evangelism and worship. Calling the church to spiritual renewal, Convergence offers teaching and coaching in the use of spiritual gifts. Worship is also a central theme of Convergence 2012, Feb.15-18

The first of three, free evening worship sessions begins Wednesday at 7 p.m. Worship leaders include HeavenFest producer Dave Powers, who will open on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and REZ Senior Pastor Jonathan Wiggins leading on Friday night. The worship sessions are free and open to the public. Each begins at 7 p.m.

Worship is also part of the daily conference program for registered participants and includes local leaders Kaitlyn Scott and Tom Ewing, considered by many a pastor to fellow worship leaders.

During day and evening sessions, other local and national speakers include Pastors John Stocker, Don Boyett, John Leach and Todd Hudson. REZ Pastors Kathy Melson, Kawika Cornelius and Diane Blanco will also share speaking and coaching duties.

According to online registration information at rez.org, even novices in the use of spirtual gifts will discover how they operate in unity, and how to use them effectively and profoundly.

REZ is located at 6502 Crossroads Blvd. in Loveland.

In March, a single night of worship and awakening is the goal of Resound One Night, featuring worship from the Boulder-based Resound Collective, and speaker Ray Hughes from Bethel Church in Redding, Calif.

The March 23 special event is a follow up to last November's Resound Conference, which drew 810 people from 102 churches, 15 states, Mexico and Canada to Vinelife Church in Boulder. Besides Colorado, Brazil and Costa Rica host the annual conference for musicians, creatives and worshipers, regardless of their ability to pay.

Like the fall conference, admission to Resound One Night is “whatever you can afford” or $10.

A global worship project – funded by financial gifts to Resound 2011 – is in the planning stages, according to organizers, who intend to announce details later.

Resound One Night begins at 7 p.m. Event registration is available online at resoundconference.com. Vinelife Church is located at 7845 Lookout Road in Boulder.
