In the original, Laura Holt (Stephanie Zimbalist) wasn't taken serious as a female private investigator, so she invented a male boss named Remington Steele in hopes of attracting business -- and clients. Then, one day, a handsome stranger with a mysterious past enters into Laura's life and decides to take on the namesake.
The reboot series will focus on Olivia Holt, Remington and Laura's daughter who re-opens her parents' detective agency.
Remington Steele, which aired on NBC from 1982 to 1987, was the precursor to ABC's Moonlighting, with Remington and Laura not only battling crime, but also their growing attraction to one another.
In recent years, though, NBC hasn't had much success with reboots, which includes The Bionic Woman, Knight Rider, and now Ironside with Blair Underwood.
