Remembering Your Business's Greatest Asset

See if you can finish this: "Wealth is..."

The answer? "...wealth."

When Ralph Waldo Emerson said this, it's unlikely that he actually thought that it would specifically be applied to small business owners, but it is quite applicable. Running a small business can be quite challenging. It's tempting to put in long hours, eat junk food, and just do what's needed to keep functioning so that every ounce of strength and talent you have gets poured straight into the business.

But after a certain point, you're going to reach the point of diminishing returns. In reality, getting regular exercise, sleeping enough, and eating healthy foods provide far more benefits than taking the easy way out. And the point that makes it even better is the fact that you can count on healthy choices and looking out for your health to provide even greater dividends later. Additionally, it will allow you to enjoy the fruits of your business later on.

So, in this new year, make sure that you carve out what time you can to take care of yourself and your health. It will pay off significantly in the long run.
