Remembering the animals

See also

This is a great time of year to think of donating to the animal rescue associations. We tend to forget in all the hassle and bustle of the holidays about those four footed friends who are not in a home with human friends. However, this is the perfect time to do so. And while we are at it, we can have some fun as well. Many of these places offer tours especially for the holidays and what a good time it is. In the Pacific Northwest we have Zoolights ( ) at the Pt. Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. Or there is the Holiday tour at Pasado’s Safe Haven ( which is sold out before Thanksgiving it is so special. You can still take part, just not in the guided tour. The Olympic Game Farm in Sequim WA is also open to tour.

Certainly this is a family time and what better time to teach about giving and taking responsibility for our animal friends. There are also the local humane societies and the internet sites as well. This year take a moment to recognize that we all share this planet and all depend on one another to survive well.
