Comedian and Howard Stern Show regular Robert Schimmel died Friday night at a Phoenix, Arizona hospital after injuries suffered in a car accident last week.

Robert Schimmel joined the ranks of the stand-up community in 1980 after L.A. Improv owner Budd Friedmann saw him perform at his club's open mic night.
