Remembering Patty

In November of 2009, you were introduced to a warm and loving soul in my article, Living a Life Imprisoned by Dementia.  I was taken back by the composure and sincerity Patty Wilson radiated as she sat with me and spoke eloquently about her condition and the day-to-day challenge it caused her.

She credited her family and loved ones for her daily successes.  As noted in the previous article, “Patty reiterated she would never have been able to get through her disability without having such a loving support system; she is extremely grateful for her family and friends, she sang to me a few lines from the song, We are family!"

Patty told me how she loved music all of her life and how the songs still lived within her heart.

On July 15, 2011, I’m sure Patty heard the most beautiful and peaceful song as heaven opened and her energy became one with it.

She has been freed from the imprisonment of Dementia.  She can now walk through the meadows and celestial gardens.  Patty’s energy is now manifesting the most stunning sunsets for all of us to appreciate.

When we talked about her memory she wasn’t sure how she wanted others to remember her but she offered words of comfort for those struggling with her disease.  These words will help sooth any pain, they are reflective of support and love.

Patty shared, "Kiss them, tell them jokes to keep them laughing and keep them surrounded by loved ones and babies. If they like something, help them to do it as much as possible."

Feel Patty’s love through the warmth of your family today.  Cherish you’re time together and know that just as Patty kept the songs alive in her heart, you can keep Patty’s memory alive in yours.  Always be loving and kind and, by doing this, you’re honoring Patty!

If you are in Patty’s circle, there is open house today, Sunday, August 7, from 2-6pm, in the greenhouse at the Evangelical Home in Saline, Michigan.
