Nelson Mandela's struggle against South African apartheid inspired millions, including President Obama when he was a young man. And Mandela's resounding call for justice and equality for all, continues to resonate around the world.
Yesterday, in Johannesburg, S. Africa, President Obama joined leaders from around the world at a very large - and sometimes rather "rambunctious" - memorial service, with rain blessing the ceremony for former South African President Nelson Mandela. Obama paid tribute to a hero and a leader who had touched him in a deeply personal way.
President Obama spoke directly to the people of South Africa, encouraging them in their continuing efforts for justice in their land. He urged all of us to remember "Madiba’s" legacy and contributions to humanity. You may view the video of this here.
You may hear and experience another unexpected, magnificent tribute to Madiba on the video to the left of this article.
Thank you, Nelson "Madiba" and Barack Obama, too, for all your efforts on behalf of the entire world!
