Late breaking news that director, producer and writer John Hughes, has died suddenly of a heart attack, while visiting his family in New York
Hughes is remembered for an impressive list of films and for bringing the teen audience to the forefront of movie making with such classics as Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the Breakfast Club, and Sixteen Candles, all classics in their own right.
But, in the history of filmmaking, he will probably be best remembered and identified with the Christmas classic, Home Alone.
There are so many memorable, life-filled scenes from the Chicago-filmed, character driven movie classic, that it is hard to imagine that Hughes, who was only 59 years old, has left this plane.
Like Frank Capra and his It’s a Wonderful Life, Hughes will be remembered each holiday season, as a man who brought families together. One could not ask for a finer legacy.
