Colonel Meow's Fur-mom Anne Marie Avey (who is dubbed "Slave Beast" on Meow's Facebook page) announced the Colonel's passing.
On November 18 of last year she had made this announcement:
"Minions!!! Colonel needs YOU. He has been in the hospital and the doctors don't really understand what's wrong with him. He needs YOU to send your amazingly good energy, vibes, and prayers. He has already survived a 50/50 chance surgery, a blood transfusion that they THOUGHT would send him into heart failure and now we need YOU to get him out of the woods. He's a Colonel. And right now he needs his soldiers. Spread that frown and send your recovery and healing vibes ASAP. He told me it was an order. ]:< You all are amazing and I thank you. -Slave Beast"
Anne made a Go Fund Me for him and Colonel's "Minions" got to work quickly and raised funds for his veterinary care. The goal was $15,000.00 and $21,155.00 was raised.
Sadly, Slave Beast made this announcement yesterday:
"Colonel Meow passed away yesterday evening. I will post more about the details when I've had a few days to grieve. Thank you so much for your understanding, Minions. Your love and support has meant the world to us both. -Slave Beast"
His death has hit the minions hard and you can see many of the memorial posts under the hashtag #RIPColonelMeow. Many of his fellow Internet Cats have posted about his passing. Pudge, Grumpy Cat, and Keyboard Cat can all be seen under the Facebook hashtag. Lil Bub posted this in memorandum:
You are without question the most remarkable, impressive, and regal living creature I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Despite your intimidating facade, you were an incredibly kind and loving feline that brought millions of humans great joy. Your legacy will never be forgotten Colonel, and we will miss you dearly. See you in space my dear friend.
