Remember to dig out your fire hydrant

The flags tied to many of the fire hydrants look silly in the summer and for most of the winter. Right now, that may be the only way to find the hydrants during a fire. If you have a hydrant on your property or live near one please take a few minutes to clear away the snow.

From the City of Grand Rapids facebook page “HELP YOUR LOCAL FIREFIGHTERS - The snow is flying and quickly adding up here in West Michigan. Please take a minute to clear a 3-foot area around the fire hydrants in your neighborhood. Every second counts during an emergency, especially if it's yours!”
