This week is National School Lunch Week. Everyone of us has our worst school lunch and our best school lunch memory. School lunches do not always get much attention but they are a highlight of a day.
Most likely if you have a child in school then you have a school lunch menu tacked up somewhere in your home. Children often X out days in which they are not so fond of a particular meal and rather pack. Thankfully, we have an option to buy lunches at school because it makes life just a tad bit easier.
Sadly, for some children, school lunches are the only times they can eat a balanced meal. Programs such as the Free Lunch Program help provide meals to children who can't afford to buy.
To celebrate this week, schools are pushing to provide healthier and tastier meals. Some schools are inviting parents to come eat lunch with their child. Activities are often
planned. Encourage your child to be polite and thank those who prepare and serve lunch.
