Remember our fallen heroes Detroit: Also the Risen One

On this Memorial Day, we are to remember those who gave their lives for us. Heroes who were killed in the line of duty, at war, and also prisoners of war deserve our honor and our remembrance. We honor them each Memorial Day, and their loved ones remember them and think of them often throughout the year.

There is one who is worthy of our remembrance and our honor each and every day. He was a Soldier in God's army, and He like many we honor on Memorial Day, gave His life for us. Unlike our lost loved ones, He rose from the dead three days later, and sits at the right hand of the Father in glory. He is now the Commander in Chief of God's army, and every knee shall bow before Him. This Soldier is Jesus Christ, the Son of Almighty God, the Sacrificial Lamb, and the Savior of the world.

This Memorial Day as we honor our fallen heroes, remember that our Hero has risen and sits in glory. He died that we may live, and that we may live abundantly. Our soldiers that have passed on died that we might live abundantly, that we may live with the freedom that the brave soldiers of the past purchased with their blood. Jesus not only purchased our freedom with His blood, He purchased us. He paid the price for our sin so that we can be joint heirs with Him in glory. Let us not forget that.

To the fallen heroes of this country, thank you for your brave sacrifice. To the families of these heroes, thank you for bringing up heroes, and may God give you peace and comfort every day for the rest of your lives, until you meet again.

Until next time may God bless and keep you, and may His face shine upon you. To our Lord be praise and honor and glory and power, forever and ever. Amen.

"Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth." - Philippians 2:9-10
