Reload searches for a drummer; Roxi Copland readies for album release

Des Moines rockers Reload were forced to cancel their upcoming concert date with fellow Des Moines rockers Rewind for Saturday, January 18 yesterday. The band apologized to fans via their Facebook page:

We are very sorry to Rewind and all of our fans, but we had to cancel our show for this Saturday. If any other bands can fill this spot, please contact Rewind.

The band did not specify a reason for the cancellation, but soon after, they posted this announcement that they were looking for a new drummer:

We will be holding auditions for [a] full-time drummer. If anyone is interested or knows of any kickass drummers, message our page or Danny Bailey.

One can only assume that the two events are related. There has been no official announcement as to what the status of current drummer Greg Ickowitz might be, but it looks like he will not be performing with the band for the foreseeable future.

In other news, former Des Moines resident Roxi Copland has announced some pre-order details for her upcoming full-length album, Truth Be Told. The jazz artist's new full-band release isn't due out until late April or early May, but she is planning a special two week pre-order event in mid-February through her website that will not only get you a CD in the mail at the end of March (about two months before they are available to the public), but also an instant digital download of the album. Copland is finishing up recording the album at Capp Audio Productions in Norwalk. To keep updated on the new album, the pre-sale event, and more, go to Copland's website and join her mailing list.
