In its annual display of Christmas spirit and goodwill towards men,
Liberty Counsel has released this year's
Friend or Foe Christmas Campaign "Naughty and Nice List". The list consists of "naughty" businesses that LC says have used the term "holiday" in their advertising instead of "Christmas." Some examples from the list are:
~ Banana Republic – Web site: “Banana Republic Holiday 2008,” “Most Wanted for the Holiday,” “Holiday Gift Guide” and “Holiday 2008 Fashion Show.” No mention of “Christmas.”
~ Circuit City – Web site: winter snow scene on home page and “Beat the Holiday Rush.” No mention of “Christmas.”
~ Disney – Shopping site: “Holiday Shop” but no mention of “Christmas.”
Businesses that use the word "Christmas" in their advertising are on the Nice list.
According to
Wikipedia,
Liberty Counsel is a non-profit public interest law firm and ministry that provides free legal assistance in defense of "Christian religious liberty, the sanctity of human life, and the traditional family." It was founded and is headed by former Seventh Day Adventist pastor Mathew D. Staver and his wife, Anita. It maintains a close relationship with Rev. Jerry Falwell's Liberty University.
While the word "boycott" doesn't appear on the Liberty Counsel website, that is what lists like this have generally been used for. Targeted businesses have sometimes felt intimidated enough to change their advertising. This is the seventh year that LC has published its
Naughty and Nice List.

OK, I think I get it... For their list, "nice" means shoving sentiments of the religious majority onto those in religious minorities, and "naughty" means using more inclusive language.
Seems like they got their terms mixed up. Arrogant theists at it again.
